AN INDEPENDENT ZINE ABOUT CUTTING THINGS UP & PUTTING THEM BACK WRONG
est. 2020 · printed monthly-ish · handled with dirty hands
no straight lines were used on this pageSCISSOR // LIP is a hand-cut, glue-stained independent magazine about collage, xerox art, and the joy of destroying perfect pages. Every issue is assembled by hand, photocopied badly on purpose, and stapled with feelings.
If it looks straight, we re-do it. If it looks clean, it is not us. We believe the edit is the art — and the blade is just a pencil that bleeds.
NO GRIDS WERE HARMED · A LITTLE BENT IS BESTA beginner's manifesto in 24 pages. Includes one real pair of scissors taped to the cover.
Recipes for paste from flour, rage, and leftover dreams. Also: why rubber cement smells like hope.
An all-red-and-black special. We printed it in one color and bled on the rest. Don't eat it.
Cutting as poetry. A mixtape made of paper — snip-snip-snap at 120 BPM.
An interview with someone who performs surgery on magazines. Long recovery times, zero regrets.
We are against straight lines. Mostly. The center-spread is taped in at a 47° angle on purpose.
A fold-out poster for your wall. Imperfect corners included at no extra cost.
We glued shut every copy and wrote the truth on the inside. You'll need a blade to read it.
CUT FIRST. ASK LATER.
GOOD ART IS A LITTLE UGLY
AND A LOT LOUD.
We believe in crooked lines, dirty thumbs, and second thoughts glued on top of first ones. We re-print every mistake until it looks intentional. The margin is for doodling, not for fear.

Dear stranger,
You are holding a tiny bomb made of paper. Pull the tab. Subscribe and we will mail you something sharp once a month — zines, posters, stickers, and instructions for cutting your own way out of a boring day. Send us your letters; we will print the best ones and staple them near the back where nobody looks. That is where the truth lives anyway.
Keep your edges rough, keep your glue warm, and never, ever align anything.
— 徐哲晖 · SCISSOR // LIPP.S. we read every letter with the same scissors we cut with.
You made it to the back of the pile, which means you are one of us now. Take a page for the road, save a collage, and come back when the glue is warm. The blade is just a pencil that bleeds — and the margin is always for doodling.
no straight lines were used on this page, either
